Description LJB Engineering is a national, multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm with multiple business lines including Transportation, Water Resources, Geospatial and Site Design, Buildings Structure Design and Safety/Fall Protection Design/Installation. We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Entry Level Roadway Engineering position in our Dayton, OH office. The successful candidate will possess a can-do attitude, have a passion for and take pride in their work, be a creative thinker, and have a willingness to collaborate while having the ability to work independently. Pay: $65,000 - $85,000/year ENTRY LEVEL ROADWAY ENGINEER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Perform roadway engineering design tasks for transportation projects from preliminary to final design. * Provide engineering design services for traditional design-bid-build projects and design-build transportation projects. * Utilize CAD software to prepare detailed engineering drawings and plans for roadway projects. * Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including specifications and cost estimates, to facilitate the implementation of roadway projects. * Work with senior engineers and other team members to ensure effective communication, coordination, and progress of roadway projects. * Stay updated on relevant transportation engineering codes, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines. Additional Responsibilities and Duties: * Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency. * Ability to react quickly and calmly to high-pressure situations. * Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively in team settings. * Ability to meet all safety requirements if/when visiting a project site. * Occasional travel may be required. * Other duties as assigned. ENTRY LEVEL ROADWAY ENGINEER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS: Education: * Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required. * EIT preferred. Qualifications: * Experience working with Municipal or State DOTs preferred. * MicroStation, GEOPAK or OpenRoads software experience preferred.
