Overview Own Your Future. MTSI is seeking a full-time senior-level Software Systems Engineer to support the Open Architecture Management Office (OAMO) at WPAFB, Ohio. The OAMO is responsible for supporting the Open Mission Systems / Universal Command and Control Interface (OMS/UCI) standard for interfaces between software services and hardware subsystems, amongst other reference architectures. This position will be co-located with the OAMO. This position will be part of a small team that works in a hybrid in-person/telework environment. Why is MTSI known as a Great Place to Work? Responsibilities Duties to be independently executed include but are not limited to: Support the OMS/UCI Standards development and maintenance, training materials development, and interfacing with HHQ, program offices, research laboratories, FFRDCs, and academia. Support the OAMO with outreach and coordination with adopting programs and ensure program equities are included in prioritization of OAMO efforts related to OMS/UCI. Review and provide constructive feedback on consortium developed products (standard, plans, training materials, etc). Support consortium meetings and other government led meetings related to OMS/UCI. Support the Government Avionics Reference Architecture (GARA) program with technical and programmatic inputs Provide impromptu training and education on the OMS/UCI standards to potential adopting programs. Support other MOSA enabling standards and reference architectures within the OAMO portfolio, as needed. Perform other engineering duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Skills: 10+ experience in engineering or software development. Must possess expertise in the areas of airborne mission systems (sensors, EW, communications, autonomy, etc) and modernization/sustainment of systems. Must possess expertise in agile software development. Possess a working knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
