Position Overview:

The purpose of this position is to provide technical support in creating, tracking, and helping resolve Material Review Board (MRB) cases, with a focus on mitigation to prevent recurrence of the cause of the cases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Operations team as initial point of technical contact when questions arise.

  • Work closely with the relevant engineering groups to ensure a clear and full understanding of the technical details of the product design and the build process.

  • Determine if an MRB is required to be created to track and resolve issues or questions, or if direct guidance will resolve the issue.

  • Create MRBs when required and assign to the appropriate department and person.

  • Track all open MRBs, both dispositioned and not yet dispositioned, and follow up with the relevant stakeholders at least twice per week to ensure that progress is made.

  • Once an MRB is dispositioned, ensure that proper routing steps have been added and the unit moved into the correct location for further work.

  • Ensure initial information in the MRB at creation and disposition in formation is correct to allow proper analysis of MRB data.

  • Maintain list of MRBs that require CRs to prevent recurrence, and track progress of CR creation and completion.

  • Support tracking of trends in MRB data.

  • Work with Project Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality, and Operations to identify and implement methods to mitigate recurrent MRBs, and improve the efficiency of the operation process.

  • Revise documentation for assembly and test processes under guidance of engineering, as required.

  • Monitor manufacturing processes to identify deficiencies.

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) events utilizing “Lean” tools to improve process efficiencies and throughput.

  • Perform other duties as directed.

Education and Experience:

  • AS degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of production shop floor experience in assembly and test of ODI products or similar design technology.

  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience preferred.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of MSOffice programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment.

  • Training abilities – ability to transfer knowledge to technicians through coaching, OJT or classroom settings.
