We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.
The SCADA Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the SCADA system at Panasonic’s Kansas Battery Manufacturing Facility. Additionally, the Engineer documents system infrastructure and methods to ensure workflows are established and managed. Furthermore, the Engineer helps with improving the SCADA solutions platform to ensure business performance is reached at its highest level.
Essential Duties:
Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and define system specifications.
Development and support implementation of SCADA Solutions Platform and system integration solutions projects
Develop Human-Machine Interface (HMI) screens for intuitive monitoring and control of industrial processes.
Configure and program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLM) for seamless integration with SCADA systems.
Updates and maintains operating and system standards, policies, and procedures
Applies technical knowledge to develop clear and standard work instructions
Installation of SCADA related hardware and network components
Design and Develop SCADA/HMI framework and solutions
Write scripts or code to customize SCADA software for specific applications
Create and maintain tags
Database programming and design
Design control panel layouts and wiring diagrams
Perform regular maintenance to ensure system reliability and availability.
Keep software and firmware up to date to address security vulnerabilities and improve performance.
Conduct testing and debugging of SCADA systems to ensure reliability and accuracy of data acquisition and control.
Thorough and complete testing and validation of SCADA network deployments and installations
Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Effectively works with implementation partners and development teams to efficiently translate business requirements into functional capabilities
Collaborates with business partners to define and deliver capabilities in alignment with business and IT strategy
Performs other duties as assigned
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education:
Basic/Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Preferred: Master’s Degree
Essential Qualifications:
Minimum of 3+ years of experience with SCADA design, programming, and commissioning in Ignition
Thorough understanding of tags, alarm pipelines, gateway servers, edge line servers, transaction groups, recipe management, UDTs, Ignition templates and historizing data
Python scripting
Networking principals as they apply to SCADA
Understanding of ladder logic
Experience programming, installing, and troubleshooting PLC systems, preferably Mitsubishi or Omron
Experience working with Proface HMIs
Knowledge of Modbus, Ethercat, Ethernet IP, Profinet, MQTT, OPC UA and SQL
Understanding of electrical hardware, drawings, sequence control and software design
Ability to cooperate and work with related departments including overseas
Flexibility to solve issues with first principles thinking
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Agile Project Management
Background working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Management of complex SCADA design and deployment projects
Solid Works Electrical
Successful completion of Inductive University
Control wiring design
Resilient, self-motived and able to work well under pressure
