Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Design & Release Engineer in the Dearborn, Michigan area. The D&R Engineer will be working on a small team involved in software coding and application development. This role will combine electrical, software, vehicle level system performance, and program management.

Other Responsibilities Include:

- Engineer electronic control module software

- Evaluate program definition by working with platform systems and feature teams to determine content and market variations

- Lead statement of work/RFQ package completion in conjunction with hardware engineers

- Communicate with electrical team and support program increment software development and program milestone delivery

- Manager JIRA Epics and Stories to support Sagas and program increment deliveries

- Manage JIRA stories status and progress through the sprint board

- Manage software interface definition between suppliers and requirements in JAMA

- Conduct design reviews with interfacing Ford activities and supplier engineering

- Lead program specific software Failure Mode Avoidance (DFMEA)

- Lead traceability evidence from suppliers to demonstrate linkage of specifications, requirements breakdowns, and test cases to DFMEA controls for safety related items

- Lead software release process and software change management

- Manage engineering changes via JIRA, DCRs, cost approval, and software releases in JFROG

- Provide vehicle build support (ex. Software release package, configurations, BreadBoards, HIL, Development builds, Pilot builds, etc.)

- Lead supplier activities to diagnose bugs, determine root cause, resolution, and verification

- Perform customer acceptance testing

- Lead software quality/warranty analysis and corrective actions

Skills and Requirements

- Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Computer Science

- 3+ years of experience in automotive industry - Experience with Software Programming

- Understanding of Electronic or Vehicle Systems

- Experience with Software Coding & Application Development

- CANtools experience

- JAMA or JIRA experience null
