Job Summary

The Director of Sourcing, Western Hemisphere will lead sourcing activities across multiple platforms as they relate to suppliers in the Western Hemisphere. This position is highly interactive cross functionally within the organization working closely with production planning, product development, logistics, costing, quality, and will have the direct responsibility for all Central America field support staff.

Representative Responsibilities

Coach, mentor, direct, and develop all Central America supplier field support staff. Responsible for creating and managing an annual operating budget that promotes growth and profitability.?  Actively participate as a member of the SCLT in order to identify, develop and direct the company's vision, strategy, and performance goals.  Travel within the region to maintain a strong understanding of emerging opportunities, determine optimum locations to procure product while mitigating risks in a global manufacturing environment. Develop relationships and work closely with business partners, understand the demands of speed to market and replenishment strategies in order to develop a sourcing matrix in support of business demands. Work closely with the development team and Dearbon sourcing partners, giving direction and developing a raw material network for nominated raw material purchases that will support our WH sourcing strategy. Work with and be responsible for the on-going Corporate Social Compliance of sourced vendors.  Ensure that the proper resources are assigned to meet compliance requirements and take appropriate action if non-compliance occurs. Develop and maintain Time Action Calendars for production and tech packs. Define requirements for supply chain per category for assigned region. Lead continuous strategic negotiation of vendor costs and other terms and conditions with goal of improving profitability through cost containment (existing and new vendors). Work with the suppliers, and the field sourcing managers, to ensure vendor compliance in the areas of product quality, on-time delivery, and social compliance. Oversee the creation and submission of manufacturing plans in support of the production planning requirements and participate in proposals to changes in the manufacturing plan in both timing and quantity.  

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or equivalent years of experience.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 10 years experience in regional sourcing, specifically Latin America, implementation of effective and innovative sourcing strategies within a mid to large size company while supporting multiple platforms and vendors, setting up vendor networks and building vendor relationship. Minimum 5 years in a people leadership capacity. Minimum 5 years experience in apparel manufacturing. Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
