The High Voltage Battery Cell Vent Management (CVM) Test Engineer is responsible for leading Device-Under-Test (DUT) build and testing for thermal propagation pack testing, bench array testing, and other testing needs related to HV battery CVM strategy development. This on-site role is very important to the ensuring a fast-paced and smooth management of CVM testing and validation activities.

What you'll do…

Lead overall cross-program test plan timing for CVM build packs.

Lead and support daily report-out of DUT-build workplans to senior management.

Lead and manage standardized CVM build, testing, teardown, reporting standards and processes and work with CVM management to ensure usage.

Lead interface with Vehicle Evaluation & Verification (VEV) on future-testing, and on cell charge/discharge allocation and timing.

Lead interface with Ford Ion Park (FIP) on test plan alignment to support array builds.

Lead / support the management of CVM part inventory and part procurement process including cell quantities, CVM materials, and build inventories.

Support systems engineers to lay out workplans for building CVM Devices Under Test (DUT’s) that will ultimately undergo destructive testing to meet program timing and deliverables.

Lead and oversee day-to-day build setup of all CVM DUT pack builds on-site to ensure quality, uniform, and standard DUT builds.

Support day-to-day build setup of all array builds.

Lead allocation and assignment of lab technicians to build CVM DUT’s according to plan.

Support testing as needed at off-site domestic locations.

Support DUT preliminary signoffs in cooperation with system engineers and CVM Technical Specialists and leadership.

Support CVM Systems and component engineer test planning.

Support CVM systems engineers with instrumentation plans to ensure they meet test objectives.

Support post-test teardown of CVM DUT’s.

Lead / support generation of post-test reports (using Concerto) and presenting results to management.

Lead / support post-teardown reports to management.

Lead / support the management of CVM part inventory and part procurement process.

Lead / support the design and build of jigs for CVM testing.

You'll have...

BS Degree of Mechanical, Thermal, or Chemical Engineering. Other engineering disciplines may also be considered.

3+ years of HV battery, array, or cell testing experience

Experience with building and or testing HV Batteries for thermal runaway/cell vent management

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite tools

Experience with data processing tools(Concerto preferred)

Must have clear communication skills.

At least HV Level 2 Certified (or equivalent experience, i.e., ability to safely work within a live HV battery pack)

Ability to manage simultaneous projects and to prioritize work accordingly.

Even better, you may have...

MS Degree of Mechanical, Thermal, or Chemical engineering. Some other engineering disciplines may also be considered.

5+ years of HV battery, array, or cell testing related to thermal runaway/cell vent management.

5+ years of experience with test setup (e.g., thermo-couple installation, sensor installation, etc.)
