Ford Motor Company Network - Technology Management Specialist in Dearborn, Michigan
The Ford Network Operations (NetOps) team is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Ford’s global network infrastructure (Ford datacenters, network hubs/colos, manufacturing plants, office buildings, etc.). This includes Wireless, Local Area Network (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Software Defined Networks, Policy/Security Controls, etc. This position is for a Customer Network Analyst (CNA), a NetOps team member, based in Dearborn, Michigan. This is NOT a remote position. Onsite presence is required.
What you'll do…
24x7 On-call level 2/3 support rotation for Incident Management, Configuration and Performance Management, Change Management and Security Management
Provide technical support for various Cisco technologies and platforms
Implement network configuration changes in the Ford environment globally on weekends and outside of business hours
Staging, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of various routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, ISIS and tunneling (GRE/IPsec).
Staging, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of global SDWAN architecture with solid understanding of vManage, vBond, vSmart, OMP, TLOC, vEdges and tunneling
Staging, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Layer 2/3 Switching including VLAN, ISL, Trunking/Tagging, Port-Channel, etc.
Staging, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting issues with large wireless networks comprising of Cisco Wireless Controllers and APs (Catalyst 9800 Controllers and Catalyst 9100 Access Points - AireOS 5500/8500 Controllers and Wave 1/2 Access Points 2700, 2800, 3800, 4800, 1570, 1560) running 2.4GHz, 5GHz, 6Ghz, WiFi 6, WiFi 6E
F5 load balancing installation, configuration and troubleshooting
SDA (ACI / SD-Access/ SD-WAN) installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
DNA Center implementation and changes
Gather troubleshooting information through packet captures and analyze pcap files and syslog messages
Open TAC Cases with different vendors to resolve complex issues impacting production network
Provide escalation level support for Critical / Major Data Center and Manufacturing Network Deployments and Troubleshooting
Work closely with network engineering, planning, systems administrators, and software engineers regarding changes, technology and hardware upgrades to support PoC, pilots and lab testing
Apply best practice troubleshooting techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions and ways to reduce MTTR
Document incidents, requests, and alerts in the ticketing system, record actions, and follow up on deferred actions
Keep customers and leadership informed of the progress and status of critical calls/tickets/outages throughout the troubleshooting and resolution process
Assist the NMS team with development of tools to integrate, manage and maintain infrastructure / hosting services by leveraging vendor APIs
Manage and support Vendor partners as required (technology/hardware/software onboarding, testing, integration, etc.)
Automate manual tasks through scripting
You'll have…
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
10+ years of hands-on experience in design and operation of Cisco LAN/WAN/Wireless networks
Deep understanding of Cisco infrastructure architecture (network, storage, and hosting)
Tier-2/3 support experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment
Expert level troubleshooting skills in Cisco routers, switches, wireless, SDWAN and SD-Access
Problem-solver mindset with a passion for learning new technologies; skilled in grasping the big picture, conceptualizing, developing, and implementing solutions, and partnering closely with business leaders and IT business towers
Experience managing large global network infrastructure projects
