In this position...
Collaborate with engineering teams across multiple disciplines (Engine, Fuel, Exhaust, Powertrain Mounts, and Thermal Systems) to drive enhancements in test methods, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and prevent recurrence items. You will play a role in strengthening Ford's quality system and contribute to improved customer satisfaction.

What you'll do...
Develop Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) plans for Engine units and vehicle end-item components
Lead the process of updating and reviewing core documents (P-Diagram, DFMEA, Quality History, Robustness Checklist, etc.)
Coach Product Engineers on Major/New Technology changes as needed
Audit FMA documents
Drive root cause analysis and establish prevent recurrence actions for Field Service Actions, Stop ship/builds, and Fresh Eyes issues.
Capture read across learnings from Late Findings into Core Documents
You'll have...
Bachelor's in Engineering
3 or more years of experience in an engineering discipline
Even better, you may have...
Extensive experience with failure mode avoidance process (i.e. Quality History, DFMEA, P-Diagram)
Product design and release experience preferred
Strong problem solving and analytical skills (FMA, 8D, DMAIC, 3L5W, etc.)
A team player approach with the ability to work well with cross-functional teams
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to present to higher levels of management
Demonstrated experience working with automotive propulsion systems, thermal systems, and powertrain mounts.
Familiarity with Ford Quality Systems
Knowledge of Ford's Global Product Development System & program management processes, including key delivery dates and the quality of deliverables required to robustly meet expectations

This position is a range of salary grades 6, 7 and 8.
