We're hiring a Sr. UX UI Designer to join Ford and drive the vision, strategy, roadmap, build and implementation of Ford.com Web Design System.

We’re looking for someone that will take a systems mindset to build and integrate consistent, efficient components across the product portfolio.

You will design, document, and maintain libraries used by many product teams. You will also assist with the creation and implementation of resources, tools and documentation that support our design systems. Additionally, you will help build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams across many product lines, business units, and regional teams.

What you'll do…

  • Contribute to the Ford.com web design system by designing and maintaining libraries.

  • Assist with the creation and implementation of resources, tools, and documentation.

  • Utilize your design expertise to balance web design standards alongside business goals, branding aesthetics, and marketing needs.

  • Work with different teams of designers and developers to implement the design system in a consistent way across different tech stacks.

  • Help streamline the process of multiple product teams building components for one-off use cases, and guide them towards a systemized approach.

  • Present the system’s mission, library, and process to other groups, including product managers, content specialists, QA, and other design and development teams throughout the enterprise.

  • Provide design guidance to internal and external teams around using components, shared patterns, and identify opportunities that can support recurring themes or use-cases.

  • Responsibly and effectively advocate in a complex corporate environment; balancing the needs of our customer, our business goals, and the design system end-user.

  • Participate and/or conduct workshops or design audits that help drive our design system forward; while considering the Ford brand and the wider eco-system of products.

  • Continuously engage with teams to drive adoption, consult, and provide support.

  • Participate in ceremonies, present work, and report progress regularly to key stakeholders.

You'll have…

• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and experience.

• 5+ years of professional experience in a user experience design or digital web design role, either in-house or at an established agency supporting global brands.

• Portfolio that highlights design systems you have contributed to; or a strong portfolio of work that demonstrates designing for end-to-end experiences, and contributing to multiple stages of product development lifecycles. (Please include portfolio password on résumé)

• Strong working knowledge of Figma components, variants, variables, collections, and modes.

• Excellent collaborative and problem-solving skills, and willingness to adapt and learn new technologies.

Even better, you may have…

• Great skill or mastery of Figma components, variants, variables, collections, and modes.

• Expert visual design acumen demonstrated through owning product design end-to-end.

• Understanding of modern front-end technologies and frameworks.

• Basic knowledge of markdown, html and css, and familiarity with basic git operations.

• Experience with conforming to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

• Experience designing for consumer auto experiences, dealer experiences, storefronts, e-commerce, or financing workflows.

• Experience designing and launching for both desktop and mobile environments.

• Ability to create interactive experiences with prototyping software that can support user testing or proof of concepts.

• Experience working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid-growth environment.

• Exposure to paired programming and Agile/Lean methodologies

• Desire to thrive in a fast-moving environment.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home?
