Ford Motor Company Thermal Systems Calibration Engineer in Dearborn, Michigan

This team requests EST hours and we prefer candidates able to work onsite from our Dearborn, MI office.

  • Work with Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control (DATC) System suppliers to define and manage DATC strategy and calibrations.

  • Lead wind tunnel and road testing to calibrate the DATC in support of program timing milestones.

  • Develop new climate control strategies in support our company’s electrification objectives.

  • Deliver globally consistent calibrations that deliver climate attribute performance objectives.

  • Development of new features/strategies with cross-functional team to meet new Human Centric Design needs, and/or optimize energy efficiency of the system

  • Support attribute engineers in analysis / review / signoff of individual calibrations (require wind tunnel testing and data acquisition)

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering

  • 2+ years of experience with automotive control systems development and calibration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering

  • 5+ years’ experience in automotive climate control including DATC and heat pump systems

  • Familiar with software control tools (i.e. Git, Jira, Matlab, Simulink).

  • Familiar with powertrain calibration methods and tools

  • Familiar with software integration test tools (i.e. CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, ATI).

  • Familiar with automotive communication standards (i.e. CAN/CAN-FD/Automotive Ethernet).

  • Knowledge of Ford engineering processes and systems (i.e. GQRS, GTDS).

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .
