The Task Force for Global Health, based in Atlanta and founded 40 years ago to advance health equity, works with partners in more than 150 countries to eliminate diseases, ensure access to vaccines and essential medicines, and strengthen health systems to protect populations. The Mectizan Donation Program oversees Merck & Co., Inc.’s donation of Mectizan for the elimination of two parasitic diseases, river blindness (onchocerciasis) and lymphatic filariasis. MDP supports national ministries of health and governmental and nongovernmental organizations by managing the allocation and safe and effective distribution of the Mectizan. MDP works with partners including Merck, GSK, endemic countries, the World Health Organization (WHO), non-governmental organizations, and others to achieve the river blindness and lymphatic filariasis elimination goals established by WHO. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages a project.

  • Coordinates the strategic planning process and monitors progress toward achieving project goals.

  • Assists in developing, administering and monitoring project related budgets.

  • Coordinates logistical arrangements for related conferences, conventions or meetings.

  • May assist in identifying funding resources and in developing funding strategies and initiatives.

  • Develops and generates various operational and statistical reports.

  • Represents and promotes the project at various speaking engagements.

  • May write grants, reports, briefings, newsletters, promotional or other written material related to the project.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

  • Manages accounts payable and receivable including monthly credit card reconciliation

  • Monitors budgets to ensure accurate coding/allocation of expense categories

  • Prepares and executes contracts and service agreements

  • Tracks contract deliverables and reporting

  • Ensures compliance with TFGH, Emory, Merck, and GSK policies

  • Establishes administrative procedures to improve efficiency

  • Plans and coordinates domestic and international meetings including hotel selection, meeting venue, accommodations, travel, per diem, travel reimbursements, presentation coordination, and technical logistics and reporting

  • Maintains and updates electronic filing system and program records

  • Procures office supplies and equipment

  • Assists with document preparation including editing and formatting

TRAVEL:

  • 10-15% domestic and international travel

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related project management experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in project coordination and providing executive or senior administrative support within a medium or large sized organization

  • 3 or more years’ experience in an Executive Administrative Assistant or Sr. Secretary role

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Gmail

  • Professional written and verbal proficiency in French

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
