Quality Manager - Decatur, IL or ADM – NA Milling Business Unit

This is an exempt position.

Job Summary:

This position is a strategic support role within the Divisional Milling team. The position provides proactive support in the development, implementation, execution and performance of the Quality Systems to ensure product meets quality and food safety standards. In addition to leading efforts for the division. This position reports to the Director of Quality and Food Safety, Milling.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide oversight of Customer Complaints – to ensure the team works within the outlined processes and categorizes complaints according to published guardrails

  • Monitors cases to ensure proper categorization and responsible party along with CAPA review for Category 3 and 4 complaints

  • Local and Divisional reporting out of complaint metrics, trending and evaluating data

  • Continue to explore standardization practices in complaint handling and trending of customer complaints

  • Collaborate with transportation and supplier quality to establish and verify standards for Transload/Co-manufacturers

  • Assist in transportation complaint investigations, assist in root cause determination, and continuous improvements

  • Own notifications around customer changes (ie; co-man location/manufacturing change; product spec change; etc)

  • Liaise between customers & manufacturing sites, warehouses & internal depts related to quality processes & requests

  • Support complex KAM/BU-supported customer portals/questionnaires, as needed

  • Customer audit facilitation and approval, as needed

  • Assist product steward, business and sales with relevant projects (rebranding, etc)

  • Collaborate with Senior Product Steward to identify and create needed processes and statements

  • System management/support: WMS, TLC, IBM

  • Manage and continuously improves the Food Safety/Quality divisional programs

  • Helping to drive continuous improvement efforts to deliver quality and food safe products

  • Facilitate and own divisional gap assessment and rollout of QMS programs

  • Plant quality and food safety verifications, as needed

  • Facilitating divisional quality training, as needed

  • Travel as needed to support the needs in regions and across the Division, as requested

Job Qualifications

  • Preferred 4 year degree or equivalent 7 year Food Safety experience and PCQI trained

  • Required Milling plant experience and in depth knowledge of milling processes

  • Working knowledge of Document Management, spreadsheets, Excel and databases

  • Knowledge applicable food regulations and requirements

  • Ability to make decisions based on information and data available

  • Ability to work as a team member and provide training

  • Ability to think strategically and proactively to contribute to the development of the organization

  • Ability to motivate staff and establish positive relationships across all levels of the organization
