Purpose & Scope: The primary responsibility of the Inventory Control Coordinator is to manage and monitor the inventory control process from receiving through manufacturing consumption and sales. This role involves coordination with various departments, including purchasing, production, formulation, warehousing, customer service, quality, and logistics. Inventory will be tracked by lot number to ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation, utilizing FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and keen attention to detail. Additionally, this candidate will be responsible for implementing future warehouse management systems, including barcoding technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordination and Planning:

  • Serve as the liaison between purchasing, production, formulation, warehousing, customer service, quality and logistics to ensure smooth workflow and communication
  • Act as the key inventory expert within our ERP system, ensuring accurate tracking of inventory SKUs by lot number and transfers between our D&D utilized warehouses
  • Address and resolve any stock discrepancies promptly

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure adherence to company and client quality standards and expectations
  • Perform routine quality inspections of inventory and documentation across all D&D warehouses, including external storage facilities

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including records of purchase orders, cycle counts, internal transfers, delivery schedules, and quality reports
  • Prepare and present regular reports on overall inventory, aging status, capacity metrics, and any issues encountered
  • Ensure all documentation complies with company and client requirements
  • Ensure compliance with D&D quarantine policy

Supply Chain Management:

  • Collaborate with our purchasing team to ensure our inventory meets production demands
  • Work with customer service, purchasing, and our consignment team to optimize inventory and logistics
  • Reconcile inventory by lots and lead regular cycle counts

Problem-Solving and Improvement:

  • Identify potential inventory bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Work with purchasing and production teams to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Upgrade and implement a warehouse management system selected by leadership to streamline inventory receiving, retrieval, and tracking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum of an Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Ag Business, Animal Science, or equivalent experience. Relevant certificates, such as Certified Inventory Manager (CIM), are a plus
