Materion Mine Technician in Delta, Utah

The Mine Technician provides technical assistance and collaborates with the mine engineering team to ensure a safe and effective operational flow of data and communications. Technicians work closely with all mine team members to strengthen the team’s skills and understanding of all mining related tasks.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist in calculations, drawings and filing of data concerning geological studies, ore reserves, mine planning, scheduling and quality control. Provide technical and interpretative assistance to the Mine Supervisor, mine crew and outside consultants as needed

  • Perform sample collection, processing and analysis, data review, data processing and data input

  • Assist with long and short-range planning and budgeting

  • Provide assistance to the mine team in the coordination and execution of overburden removal contracts and other special mining related projects

  • Request information, analyze alternatives and make clear decisions in a timely manner while keeping stakeholders informed

  • Manage conflicting priorities and distractions to focus attention on results, prioritizing issues around delivery of the end product in a safe and timely manner

  • Operate mining equipment as needed

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • ​Current driver's license

  • Background in mining, geology and sample integrity

  • Basic computer skills including spreadsheet navigation and data entry

  • Working knowledge of surveying and mapping

  • 3 years experience in mining, heavy equipment construction or related field

  • Experience operating heavy equipment including track bulldozer, track excavator, self-propelled scraper, motor grader and water truck is preferred
