Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the supervision and direction of the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for performing routine accounting functions that directly impact the organization’s financial performance. The Senior Accountant will assist the Controller and Assistant Controller in tasks as assigned.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with P&L and/or pro-forma analysis projects from all aspects of data gathering, organizing, analyzing and presenting to Management
Complete all assigned Journal Entries per time schedule
Process payroll as needed
Work with Fixed Asset System, CER process, and capital statistics
Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts per time schedule
Assist with preparation of annual Medicare Cost report work papers, tax papers, and budget process, and other interim work papers
Work with special projects and other related functions as assigned
Process contract labor billings and accrual
Attendance and being on time, ready to work scheduled hours, is an essential job function
What qualifications you will need:
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and verbal, interpersonal and quantitative skills normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
Working knowledge of Excel and Word or comparable software; mainframe systems (General ledger, Payroll, Accounts Payable)
Able to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
Good organizational skills
Computer experience
Must be able to work with interruptions and priority changes frequently
2 years hospital/healthcare accounting experience preferred
Bachelors Degree is required
MBA is preferred
