Description

The ADC Commerce Platform team is looking for a AWS Dedicated Cloud Engineer with a passion for continuous improvement. The team owns and operates some of the most impactful services in AWS and we are looking for someone to help us to continue to drive improvements and optimizations though automation and process optimization. Our systems development engineers work in a fast-paced environment across many disciplines, collaborating with other AWS teams to deliver cutting-edge services for our customers. Our team members own the scaling and management of services across AWS regions supporting the US Government. The ideal candidate is passionate about development and operations, and have a strong desire to learn about drive continual improvements throughout Amazon's development lifecycle. If this sounds like you lets talk!

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities

The ADC Commerce Platform team is seeking highly motivated engineers who are focused on operational excellence and troubleshooting complex system operations, have a solid understanding of Linux, networking, and general knowledge of cloud services. We need engineers who understand how to think big, and simplify solutions to complex problems; all the while ensuring that our customers continue to have the best experience possible.

A day in the life

On a "typical" day, our engineers may dive deep into customer issues, service interdependencies and region specific configurations to find the root of a problem. Engineers also need to be able to investigate why a metric or system variances is trending in the wrong direction, or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational processes. As a member of our team you will join a dedicated group of engineers who provide troubleshooting and operations support, and innovate to automate operational tasks.

The CP ADC Operations team supports customer sign up, bill computation, pricing, metering, discounts, cost insights, security, and fraud prevention services for AWS customers. The CP ADC Ops team is focused on enabling AWS as a whole the capability to build, interpret and process trillions of commerce events per day, often bundled with low-latency/real-time analysis to enable security and fraud detection.

ADC regions like DCA and LCK are similar to the commercial regions, except that they are completely disconnected because ADC regions are isolated from the rest of AWS. This means that the ADC region operates independently, and in complete connectivity isolation from the internet, all commercial Amazon corporate, retail, and Amazon Web Services systems and services. Deploying code or troubleshooting a problem in an ADC region requires the involvement of a cleared engineer on the CP ADC Ops team.
