Scope: The Assembly Engineer will assist the Assembly Engineering Supervisor in engineering efforts to support the assembly operation for printed circuit boards.The duties include design, layout, and improvement of embedded and solder assembly processes, monitoring overall process operations and developing solutions to a broad range of technical problems. The engineer will also be called upon to process products through the assembly or embedded resistor process per the designated manufacturing work instructions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Process products through the assembly or embedded resistor process per the designated manufacturing work instructions. Identify and assist with work instruction updates as needed.

Evaluate and troubleshoot products as necessary throughout the process.

Work with CAM data and transfer data for programming of pick and place soldering station and the x-ray machine.

Suggest and assist in deploying best practice principles for process control and product yield for pick and place soldering station, hot gas bonder, and X-ray machine and hand soldering of components.

Assist in establishing performance measures and metrics, review performance outcomes, investigate problems and ensure revisions to documented procedures.

Participate with company teams in meeting customer quality and delivery requirements.

Support customers and internal design reviews to ensure compatibility of processing techniques.

May be called upon to assist in capital project efforts which will resolve production capacity and technology capability issues.

Documentation of processes into work instructions, training guides and certification testing.

Perform preventative maintenance on department equipment.

Maintain current knowledge of industry standards.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

Capability for carrying out data collection and analysis.

Strong math skills and good mechanical aptitude.

Ability to use microscope for placement of small objects.

Project management skills, structured problem solving, and data analysis.

Working knowledge of Word, Excel, E-mail, and Valor Gerber viewer.

Ability to teach and train others as required in the organization.

Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Requires ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Working knowledge of Industry standards.

Education and Experience:

Education:

Associate Degree in Engineering or Electrical Technology; Bachelor Degree preferred, Required Experience:

Has applicable essential knowledge end skills. Preferred Experience:
