Primarily responsible for local deliveries and occasionally overnight deliveries of finished steel coils potentially 2 over nights per week). M-F 6 am-2:30 pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Position will entail local deliveries and possibly occasional overnight deliveries. Inspects load prior to departure to ensure all cargo is secured in the truck or trailer for safe and efficient travel Delivers items by identifying destinations; establishing route; and maintaining scheduled guidelines Maintains safe operation of vehicle through safe driving practices Maintains delivery, truck, and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgments; recording tracking information; completing driver log and truck performance forms. Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must have a valid Class A CDL license with a minimum of 3 years CDL experience and must meet all DOT requirements. Flatbed and Coil Steel delivery experience required. Must have good driving record. Important Notes: Applicants must provide a current copy of Motor Vehicle Report when called for an interview. Ability to pass physical and drug test. Must be at least 21 years old.

Education and Experience: Graduation from High School or GED equivalent, one (1) year of relevant experience, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide two digit numbers using American money, weight, volume, and distance.

Reasoning ability: Must be able to communicate effectively with customer, other employees, and supervisors. Ability to make independent judgments that have moderate impact on the organization.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. Noise levels are moderately loud when driving.
