JOB SUMMARY The Chief of Staff to CIO and IT PMO LEAD serves as a key advisor and strategic partner to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to develop and execute the organization's technology strategy and oversees execution of key IT programs. This role is recognized as a subject matter expert in the work area, managing large projects or processes, policies and standards under limited supervision. Coaches, reviews and delegates work to junior employees. Problems faced may be difficult and often complex. Demonstrates integrity, accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture. Typical job responsibilities of the CHIEF OF STAFF and IT PMO Lead include: Chief of Staff Responsibilities: • Source and prepare relevant IT-specific meeting agenda topics for IT Leadership, IT All Hands, BKV All Hands and BKV ELT/SLT/LT meetings. • Ensure CIO is prepared and equipped with up to date and relevant meeting collateral prior to recurring 1:1 meetings with Executive Leadership and Senior Leadership Team members. • Serve as an advocate for IT and facilitate cross-functional engagement and touchpoints with key partners to improve consistency of communication and find better ways of working across the organization. • Identify operational challenges and implement solutions to streamline workflows and improve productivity. • Assist in the formulation of long-term technology roadmaps and investment plans aligned with business goals. • Serve as a liaison between the technology organization and other departments, ensuring alignment of priorities and expectations. • Represent the CIO in meetings and presentations with internal and external stakeholders as required. • Compile and present regular reports, updates and performance metrics to executive leadership on the status of technology initiatives and projects. Technology Program/Project Management and Oversight Responsibilities: • Prioritize, manage and oversee execution of all IT projects, spanning large cross-functional projects with heavy technology involvement through IT-specific projects. Balance resources and timelines effectively. • Serve as a key cross-functional partner and regularly communicate project status updates to the Strategic Realization Office (SRO) to ensure IT function is represented, advocated and accounted for with regards to any project requiring IT support. • Provide support for and ensure the success and effectiveness of BKV’s Enterprise Intake Process, including facilitating and leading the Technology Review Committee process to ensure IT has visibility and necessary involvement in Enterprise projects. • Identify, assess and mitigate risks associated with IT projects. Develop risk management strategies and processes to proactively address potential issues and minimize project disruptions. Communicate identified risk across project stakeholders. • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication among project teams, stakeholders and executive leadership. • Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the progress and performance of IT projects. • Generate regular reports and dashboards to provide stakeholders with visibility into project status, milestones and outcomes. • Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources (including personnel, budget, and technology) across IT projects. Ensure that resources are allocated efficiently to maximize project outcomes. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the IT PMO to enhance project management practices, processes, and capabilities. • Serve as Business Lead for any projects that appropriately align with job description. Technology Financial and Contract Management Lead Responsibilities: • Monitor service delivery and costs against contract standards, working collaboratively with Technology Operations Manager and Business Relationship Managers. • Ensure that technology investments and contracts align with the organization's IT and digital transformation strategies. • Ensure application of capitalization and expense policies, in collaboration with Finance Leadership Team colleagues. • Manage technology budgets, resource allocation and vendor relationships to maximize value and minimize costs. • Lead Enterprise-wide technology G&A and capital budget development process jointly with CIO and in collaboration with Financial Planning and Analysis colleagues. • Track and manage all Enterprise-wide technology spend compared to budget on a monthly basis and provide monthly Budget vs. Actuals readout to CIO. • Manage vendor invoicing standards and processes and identify areas for process improvement, while identifying and implementing cost-saving measures. • Maintain IT Cost Savings Tracker to monitor technology cost-savings figures in real time. • Actively participate in annual contract renewal negotiations across all vendors • Identify and mitigate risks related to technology contracts. Assess the financial stability of vendors, monitor market trends that may impact contract negotiations and implement strategies to minimize financial and contractual risks. • Other responsibilities as required. REQUIRED SKILLS • Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues, and regulatory requirements. • Ability to think strategically and align technology initiatives with the organization's overall goals and objectives. • Proficiency in project management methodologies to oversee the execution of technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and according to specifications. • Experience in driving organizational change initiatives related to technology adoption, process improvement and cultural transformation. • Understanding of technology budgets, resource allocation and financial metrics to optimize investments and maximize value for the organization. • Leadership skills including an advanced ability to work cross-departmentally, develop others and influence the organization to achieve results. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred. • Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS • Project Management Certification preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS • This position is located in Denver, CO at BKV Headquarters. Remote work will be considered. • Indoor working environment that requires the ability to perform repetitive motions and operate standard office equipment. • May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise while sharing office space with others. • Some travel up to 10% may be required. SALARY RANGE • $107,000 - $198,000
