This Opportunity

Provides technical assistance and guidance for water and wastewater engineering work. Tasks may include the design and process selection of water and wastewater facilities, performing field inspections at facilities, project planning, facilitating communication, data analysis, design, drawing preparation, permitting, and construction administration. Generates accurate and concise reports and documentation to support engineering observations, calculations, methods, conclusions and recommendations for engineering and design projects. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.

Your Impact

  • Perform high-level professional water and wastewater engineering work and analyses, in accordance with applicable laws, rules and standards.

  • Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, models, cross-sections and other illustrations for the interpretation and presentation of complex data, findings and analyses.

  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations that clearly explain analysis methods, findings and recommendations.

  • Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute mid-level projects which may include geotechnical work, environmental assessments, and regulatory permitting to provide future ready solutions for clients.

  • Assist with the completion of project level task management which may include developing budgets and tracking hours and expenses for medium size projects.

  • Prepare and implement site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a focus in Water and Wastewater or closely related discipline.

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience in water resources engineering.

  • Engineer in Training or Engineer license required.

  • Proficient knowledge of water and wastewater engineering principles, practices, process, design, and the application to environmental permitting and project work-related issues.

  • Well-defined knowledge with water and wastewater design.

  • Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles.

  • Proficient understanding of and well-defined experience with water and wastewater methodologies and models, and managing special data in ESRI ArcGIS and AutoCAD software.

  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

  • Highly proficient with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.

  • Works independently with minimal oversight and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.

  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.

  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $73,100 - $125,400

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
