Job Brief Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc., (AMA) is seeking to hire a remote, part-time Data Analyst Intern.

Job Description: Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc., (AMA) is seeking to hire a part-time Data Analyst Intern to support our science validation team in performing calibration and geolocation on limb scatter observations from NASA's Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment on the International Space Station (SAGE III/ISS). This will be a remote-work internship, with a flexible schedule of up to 20 hours per week. The anticipated end date of this internship is May 2025. Candidates must be located in the United States of America. The pay range for this position is $22.79-$31.50, depending on education and locality. Responsibilities: Collaborate with SAGE III/ISS scientists to apply data from the instrument's miniature inertial measurement unit for absolute attitude determination Produce research-quality analyses and analysis software Complete systems engineering reports on the work performed Requirements: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Physics or a related discipline Experience programming in Python Experience applying Kalman filtering to data sets Familiarity with quaternion representation of three-dimensional geometries Experience with management of code bases under GitHub central version control Ability to communicate well, take direction, and pursue tasks independently Due to information security requirements, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent U.S. resident.
