Oracle Data Plane Architect in Denver, Colorado

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect Data Plane Solutions: Design and implement high-performance, scalable data plane architectures in OCI or other cloud environments, ensuring optimal data flow, low latency, and high availability.

• Performance Optimization: Perform tuning and optimization for the data plane, focusing on network throughput, reliability, and security.

• Security and Access Control: Design secure data plane components with fine-grained access control and encryption mechanisms to protect data in transit and at rest.

• Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with cloud networking, storage, and database teams to ensure seamless integration and efficient data handling across the platform.

• Lead Technical Discussions: Act as the technical SME, guiding customer discussions and internal teams regarding data plane requirements, troubleshooting complex issues, and providing innovative solutions.

• HA/DR Strategies: Design and implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for critical data plane services, ensuring minimal downtime.

• Monitoring and Observability: Leverage monitoring tools (like Oracle Cloud Observability and Management) to build real-time dashboards that monitor data traffic, latency, and performance metrics.

• Automation and Infrastructure as Code: Develop and implement automated workflows for provisioning and scaling data plane services using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and OCI's own infrastructure automation tools.

• Networking: Manage and optimize cloud networking components, including load balancers, VPNs, VCNs, and firewalls, ensuring efficient data routing and connectivity.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on network infrastructure, data management, and performance tuning.

• Strong experience with OCI, AWS, or Azure, particularly in architecting and managing data planes or large-scale cloud networking solutions.

• Deep knowledge of data Streaming technologies like Kafka, Oracle Goldengate, Oracle Streaming

• Proficiency in using cloud automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar to automate infrastructure deployments.

• Strong programming skills in Python, Shell scripting, or similar languages to develop custom tools or workflows. • Experience with performance monitoring and troubleshooting of cloud-based networks and applications using monitoring platforms.

• Hands-on experience in building highly available and fault-tolerant systems in cloud environments.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with both technical teams and executives.

• Strong background in cloud security principles, including network access control, encryption, and authentication mechanisms. Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or with Oracle databases, Fusion Middleware, or other Oracle products.

• Proven ability to manage multi-cloud environments and hybrid architectures.

• Software development experience and familiarity with DevOps practices.

• Strong understanding of virtualization, containerization, and microservices architectures.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
