Job Title: Denver Metro Social Services Assistant Director FLSA Status: Full Time - exempt Reports to: Denver Metro Social Services Director Schedule: 9:00am to 5:00pm M-F, on call Pay rate: $115,000 - $120,000 Annually Closing Date: 1/6/2025 Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following: Health, vision, dental, life as well as voluntary life and disability insurance Sick leave benefit - 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire) Vacation benefit - 20 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0769 hours for each hour worked (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment) One floating day off for use (accrued immediately, and again annually, but may not be used until the completion of the initial three-month introductory period of employment) Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service) Voluntary Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan (403(b)plan) Function Under the direction of the Denver Metro Social Services Director, the Denver Metro Social Services Assistant Director will support oversight and strategic initiatives of social service programs within Denver Metro. This role provides direct supervision of sheltering program initiatives utilizing people centered, housing first, low barrier and trauma informed approach. The Denver Metro Social Services Assistant Director holds a position of trust and confidence that requires professionalism and adherence to the policies and procedures of The Salvation Army. Execution of this role will be done within the Orders and Regulations of The Salvation Army, consistent with the mission principles and standards, while keeping with sound social service ethics, values and compassion for people, serving without discrimination. Duties and Responsibilities Give direction and oversight to all Denver Metro Social Service programs. Monitor the activities to help ensure proper communication at all levels and that all policies, procedures principles and practices, program standards, legal/health/safety requirements relevant to contracts and professional codes of ethics of The Salvation Army. Assist Program Directors or Program Managers with program, personnel and property matters. Assist Program Directors or Program Managers with the fiscal management of their programs adhering to budgets approved by DHQ. Evaluate social service program operations as follows: Program: Ensure there are defined goals and outcomes that are regularly being met. Makes appropriate recommendations for program facilitation to enhance program service and delivery. Assist the Program Directors and Program Managers with development of comprehensive goals to achieve outcomes and monitor progress toward achieving those goals and outcomes. Supports coordination and integration of services across program sites. Personnel: Ensure that there are adequate qualified personnel in each program for contract compliance and to accomplish goals and required. Ensure standardization of training and delivery of social service protocols as required to meet mandated legal, risk reduction and TSA business compliance issues. Support coordination efforts of Denver Metro Social Services in the Thanksgiving and Christmas efforts including Holiday meals. Prepare monthly program committee report and other reports as needed. Support grant writing, budget development and site tours in conjunction with the DHQ Development Department through foundation grant requests, government funding applications, donor requests, and other funding sources. Work with the Denver Metro Social Services Leadership Team regarding strategic goals, staff development and coordination committees, public relations, cold weather survival services, emergency disaster services, etc. Provide timely customer service support for clients filing grievances or seeking to escal te situations, develop reports as needed. Investigate claims among staff in sheltering programs made to or identified for investigation by TSA human resources. Participate as needed in community meetings and presentations, representing The Salvation Army's Denver Metro Social Services in conjunction with our mission in the absence of the Denver Metro Social Services Director. Responsible for the ongoing operations of Denver Metro Social Services in the absence of the Denver Metro Social Services Director. Perform other duties related to this position as needed or assigned. Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications

Education/Experience Master's Degree (required) in Human Services or related field or bachelors degree with five years work experience in the field of human services and/or providing case management; Demonstrated history of providing professional, effective programming with families and/or individuals in need; Minimum of three years of Administrative and Management Experience, including supervision of a diverse staff, public services, contract management and compliance and social services program development. Two years of work experience in a homeless shelter setting, preferred.

Skills Commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army Demonstrated crisis intervention and non-violent crisis intervention skills, required. Experience in non-profit setting working with unhoused populations, other economically disadvantaged, and culturally diverse populations, required.
