We are seeking an experienced engineer to be the District Engineer for several of our water and sanitation Districts in the Denver Metro area. The District Engineer plays a critical role working with District and KJ staff coordinating and managing operations, maintenance, optimization of water and wastewater infrastructure, plus ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards. This individual will serve as a key point of contact for the districts, local authorities, developers, engineers and internal teams, providing technical leadership to meet District water and wastewater needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee water and wastewater engineering projects from planning through design and construction, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.

In coordination with the District Board and staff, develop and implement long range plans

Lead the development of annual Capital Improvement Plans and oversee execution of annual capital improvement projects.

Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors to achieve project goals and compliance.

Prepare and review technical documents, including proposals, reports, and contract specifications.

Represent district clients as the District Engineer, attending monthly board meetings to provide updates and professional guidance.

Develop solutions to engineering challenges and oversee operational improvements for water and wastewater infrastructure.

Support business development efforts, including proposals, client interactions, and marketing coordination.

Qualifications:

BS or MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related engineering field

Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Colorado

8+ years of experience in water and wastewater engineering, with a focus on project management.

Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources for multiple projects.

Experience with business development and sales

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with experience representing clients.

Position will be a minimum of two days in the local office each week with the option to work remotely from your home on non-office days, depending on business needs.

Salary range in Colorado is anticipated to be $105,000 to $120,000, depending upon experience and qualifications.
