The primary duties of the Environmental EIT are to conduct, supervise or direct remedial engineering projects. Environmental Engineer responsibilities include: Work on diverse remedial engineering projects that with a wide range of contaminants (VOCs/SVOCs/metals/PCBs/Pesticides/NAPL) in all types of media (soil/groundwater/sediment/bedrock/abandoned mines, etc.) utilizing innovative remedial technologies (P&T/removal/dredging/ISS/chemical oxidation/bioremediation/capping). Working with PMs and clients to develop scope, schedule and budgets for remediation and waste projects. Working with senior engineers in preparation of Remedial Design deliverables including engineering design reports, construction drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates and construction schedules. Assist in report preparation including Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Pre-Design Investigations, Remedial Design and Remedial Action Reports Develop and implement field investigations and remedial pilot tests. Primary role is to supervise team from office but may require leading investigation and testing from field on larger projects. Participate in meetings with clients and regulatory agencies to resolve technical issues and negotiate remedial actions. May function as project manager on mid-sized projects or as a task manager on large remediation projects. Serve as a consultant and supervisor of waste and remedial construction management projects as needed. Work independently on technical tasks involving data analysis, interpreting results, and preparing technical reports, plans and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers on larger projects. Assist in marketing efforts for waste and remediation project proposals and contract pursuits. Train and mentor personnel as established by strategic plans. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for environmental engineering projects, such as remediation design and implementation. Excellent communication skills and strong writing skills are essential. EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression Self-motivated, flexible, client-focused, and able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task. Minimum of 2 years of experience in remediation projects with a focus on remedial design/remedial design implementation support. Desire to obtain Professional Engineer license. Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Teams, OneNote, etc.). Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus. Must be detail-oriented and a team player with great communication, technical writing, analytical, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team often with professionals across multiple offices. Capable of working under the direction of project managers/senior engineers and supervising junior staff on project tasks. Prior experience with field work and different environmental and/or remedial technologies a plus. Knowledge of remedial design/remedial action phases of environmental projects a plus. Basic knowledge of federal CERCLA regulations a plus. Mining remediation experience a plus. Federal Superfund experience a plus. 40-hour HAZWOPER training a plus. Experience mentoring junior engineers. #LI-LA1
