Noblis Environmental Remediation Scientist/Engineer in Denver, Colorado
Responsibilities
Noblis supports the Department of Defense (DoD) in the technical evaluation and oversight of the environmental restoration program and management of complex sites and remediation technologies. Noblis provides technical support to the DoD on geologic, hydrologic/hydrogeologic, and contaminant fate and transport conceptual site model assessment; remedial investigation recommendations; remedial technology design and evaluation; regulatory and policy issues; life-cycle adaptive restoration management; and legacy and emerging issues, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) programmatic planning. Our team of technical experts works closely with DoD managers in developing and implementing processes to ensure that environmental remediation is successfully progressing to meet program objectives.
The Environmental Remediation Scientist/Engineer provides technical and program level support to various federal client organizations and agencies in environmental engineering, environmental planning, and environmental remediation. The Remediation Scientist/Engineer’s responsibilities include:
Evaluating environmental site conditions and developing remediation strategies and technology approaches related to all contaminated media for emerging (e.g., PFAS) and legacy contaminants
Contributing to development of design, construction, operation, and monitoring requirements for remediation systems
Evaluating environmental remediation technology performance and determining recommended optimization improvements
Developing, analyzing, and selecting of remedial alternatives
Evaluating remediation costs
Contributing to execution strategy development
Writing complex technical analyses
Providing quality assurance oversight of program activities and work products
Providing leadership to less experienced engineers and scientists
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology or equivalent field andminimum of 5 years of experience required
Ability to travel up to 25% domestically
U.S. Citizenship required
Understanding of remediation technologies. Examples include:
In situ biologic or abiotic remediation
Ex situ separation and destruction technologies
PFAS destruction technologies and other PFAS innovative technologies
High resolution site characterization technologies
Understanding of contaminant transport and fate mechanisms
Understanding of environmental sequence stratigraphy approaches for conceptual site model development and informing remedial strategies.
Understanding of surface water, storm water, and drinking water distribution systems
Experience in environmental remediation and emerging contaminant (e.g., PFAS) issues and the impact on DOD, with a focus in technology evaluation and implementation
Experience evaluating and developing Conceptual Site Models and data gap analysis for restoration sites
Demonstrated technical experience in an important area of environmental remediation or investigation
Ability to think independently and to work in group environments
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, technical writing, and interpersonal skills
Experience supporting business development initiatives
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or equivalent field is preferred.
DoD and other Federal government experience is preferred.
Data management skills are preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates who are based in San Antonio, TX.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
Posted Salary Range
USD $81,900.00 - USD $127,950.00 /Yr.
