The Program Coordinator for the Design for Health initiative provides marketing and coordinating support to the initiative and its directors. This position requires attention to detail and execution, discretion and insightful judgment, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and make independent decisions. The Program Coordinator will interact with CU employees as well as students and allied professionals. This role serves as a strategic partner to ensure effective organization and communications, as well as other types of support.

What you will do:

General

  • Maintain spreadsheets of those engaged in the initiative.

  • Maintain spreadsheet of revenue and expenditures (ongoing budget).

  • Maintain list of donors and prospects (potential donors), update it based on information provided by Directors, and work with Directors on determining priorities and next steps.

  • Maintain calendar of relevant events.

  • Working with Directors, begin to maintain a list of potential and actual Advisory Board members.

  • Represent the initiative, when possible, at the monthly AHWC Town Halls, and potentially at other gatherings.

  • Ensure proper use of the initiative's logo and design themes.

  • Foster and maintain positive relationships and serve as a well-regarded ambassador/representative of the initiative.

  • Respond to queries about initiative through written and oral communications and assist with directing requests appropriately.

  • Responsible for planning and executing cultivation-stewardship of Design for Health initiative stakeholders.

Summits (3x per year)

  • Scheduling and location identification and confirmation.

  • Creation and distribution of email invitations, as well as reminders, and gathering of RSVPs.

  • Assist with preparation of agendas.

  • Arrange Catering.

  • Ensure meeting minutes/notes and photographs are taken.

  • Brainstorm and develop a theme for each event.

Newsletter

  • Prepare and distribute newsletters approximately 3 weeks after each summit, including a summary of the summit and updates from those engaged in the initiative. Website and Social Media

  • Working with CAP Communications Director, develop web presence for the initiative, including archive of newsletters.

  • Develop and manage/maintain social media, perhaps LinkedIn and Instagram.

  • Create and release blog posts for website/social media.

  • Take and edit the pictures from summits and format them for social media. Additional PR & Marketing

  • If/when appropriate, work with University Communications staff to generate content for stories about the initiative.

  • Create a post event follow up (in the form of a survey or other relevant research tools) to measure how well the summits are meeting attendees' needs and expectations.

  • Develop and maintain a database of relevant media contacts for outreach about the initiative.

  • Collaborate with the initiative's Directors to identify key messages and themes for promotional materials and campaigns.

  • Engage with attendees' post-event to gather testimonials/success stories for promotional purposes, highlighting the initiative's impact

  • If/when appropriate, generate press releases regarding the initiative. Qualifications

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)

A Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, education, health science, social science, liberal arts, communications, or related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications to possess (Preferred Qualifications)

Knowledge about and experience with start-ups, entrepreneurship, communications, social media, website development, photography, event organizing, fundraising, public relations & marketing, etc.

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including ability to establish good rapport with a wide variety of individuals.
