Oracle’s Industries Engineering Services Platform Development team is looking for a seasoned Technical Program Manage r with a strong cloud infrastructure background to join us in providing world-class observability and automation of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure deployment and provisioning management.

The Technical Program Manager will help analyze, define, manage, and execute the tasks required to drive successful infrastructure deployment initiatives. This may mean diving into a new technology or development initiative and determining how to integrate it into existing teams, processes, or code. Alternatively, it could require defining and managing a complex, cross-functional project that brings together a diverse group of stakeholders and developers to agree upon and execute important organizational goals.

The successful candidate must have deep process automation knowledge, problem-solving skills, strong business judgment, and notable experience collaborating in cross-functional teams with a focus on large infrastructure deployments.

We are looking for a self-starting, technical leader with a proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically, and someone who is excited to take on new projects. This position requires a solid DevOps, Observability, and Cloud Infrastructure technical background, and the candidate should be comfortable driving adoption of new technology among disparate teams with competing priorities. You will partner closely with stakeholders, software developers, and the entire Oracle Cloud Infrastructure community.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

As a Technical Program Manager, you will engage with our stakeholders to understand business needs and work with development teams to design and execute an effective, efficient, and operable solution.

With your deep and technical cloud infrastructure experience, you will help shape the configuration management of resources running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure through delivery of leading edge, automation solutions.

As a member of the IES Platform Development team, you will lead our development team in implementing Agile / Scrum principles and refine existing processes to meet evolving software development lifecycle methodologies.

What You'll Do

  • Prioritize deliverables according to business needs and engage developers in planning, estimating, and delivering work

  • Engage with partner teams across the organization to understand current and future capability requirements

  • Analyze best practices and emerging concepts in Infrastructure Provisioning Automation to improve team development processes

  • Monitor development requests from initiation through delivery, ensuring required leadership approvals and technical reviews are obtained

  • Regularly interact across functional areas with senior management to ensure team objectives are met and deliveries stay on schedule

  • Act as a force multiplier by removing both technical and administrative blockers

Skills you have: Education and Work Experience

  • 5+ years experience as a Technical Program Manager or equivalent role

  • Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study

  • Leadership in an Agile Development / SCRUM organization

  • Ability to define and manage complex projects

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to prioritize work, remove barriers, and keep organizational focus

  • Competence in evaluating problem statements and a demonstratable talent for breaking down capability gaps into actionable, milestone deliverables which achieve the required outcomes

  • Track record of delivering assigned projects on time with high quality, using Agile, DevOps, and SRE practices and toolsets

  • Experience working across disciplines to establish roadmaps, set appropriate expectations and deliver products and services meeting high operational excellence

Technical Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with the following technologies:

  • Compute (Linux and Windows), Database, Networking, and other Cloud Infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-code for deployment

  • Configuration-as-code management

  • Container based software deployment

  • Expertise working with teams to build highly-scalable distributed solutions; designing services as APIs

Soft Skill Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Experience interacting with both business and development / engineering individuals at all levels

  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands

  • A thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle

  • Ability to work independently, defining and managing one’s own work while still providing transparency and accountability to management and our stakeholders

  • Respect for and willingness to work with individuals and teams located across multiple geographic locations

What The Perfect Candidate Will Have

In addition to the knowledge, skills, and experience listed above, you will score some extra points if you

also have:

  • 2+ years technical background as a software developer and/or DevOps engineer

  • Experience aggregating data in Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and creating visualizations in Kibana/OpenDashboard

  • Experience with deploying new, and scaling existing, infrastructure in large datacenter environments

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $87,800 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
