Robert Half Project Accountant in Denver, Colorado

Description We are in the market for a Project Accountant to join our team in the construction industry, located in Denver, Colorado. This role involves the effective management of customer applications, maintaining accurate records, and resolving customer inquiries, with an emphasis on monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the processing and checking of expense reports to prevent discrepancies and errors.

• Collaborate with the project management team to set budgets, discuss labor costs, and track actual expenses against projections.

• Manage project-related records, including contracts and change orders, ensuring all legal documents are completed and signed.

• Participate in the development and finalization of project budgets.

• Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring prompt payments.

• Monitor and report project costs, including capital and construction costs.

• Prepare regular financial reports and analysis for construction projects.

• Assist project managers in financial management and analysis.

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.

• Use Microsoft Excel and other accounting software for data entry and invoice processing. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Project Accountant

• Proficient in account reconciliation processes

• Demonstrable experience in handling accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Skilled in billing and invoice processing tasks

• Capable of performing data entry tasks with high accuracy

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for the purpose of data analysis and report generation

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with clients and team members

• Excellent analytical skills for interpreting complex financial data

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make well-judged decisions.
