Dewberry is currently seeking a Regional Discipline Lead - Pumping Systems to support growth of our water practice in the west. The Discipline Lead will be a technical and market-focused strategic thinker with technical subject matter expertise in the areas of pumping systems and hydraulics. This opportunity is based in Denver with a regional focus on the growth of our pump station and hydraulics portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with our western leadership teams and collaborate with Dewberry's water practice leadership to develop and implement strategies for sustained growth, development of industry leading best-practices for technical delivery and mentoring of staff focused on design and construction of pumping systems. Responsibilities
Will provide technical guidance and strategic direction for pumping systems projects and design teams. This includes: Helping manage our teams to be responsive to our client's project needs. Establishing/refining our pumping system design standards and guidelines. Engaging with clients to maintain a high level of client service and support. Engaging with our pursuit teams to help with client positioning and marketing activities. Recruiting and building a team to deliver and continue to sell work as backlog grows. Working with our water team to enhance our growth and visibility. Collaborating with our water leaders as a subject matter expert in pumping systems to coordinate national client service, positioning, teaming, and project delivery. Actively engaging our existing local, regional, and national resources in support of these efforts. Leading Dewberry's active engagement with the Hydraulic Institute in support of strategic growth and technical excellence in the pumping systems and hydraulics discipline.
Required Skills & Required Experience
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering field is required; M.S. degree preferr d. Active Professional Engineering license is required in one or more of the following states AZ, CA, CA, NM, UT with a preference for licensure in multiple states 20+ years' experience with increasing levels of project and client responsibilities for public sector water and wastewater projects. A minimum of 10 years' project management experience. Subject matter expertise and high client/market credibility in pumping systems engineering and design A successful track record of managing projects, including scope, schedule, and budget. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong client retention and new business development skills. Strong leadership qualities and ability to coach and mentor junior and mid-level staff.
