Typical projects involve stormwater master planning, design of stormwater systems, stream restoration project development, culverts, BMPs, Green Infrastructure/LID, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, capital and resilience planning, and dam safety, including breach modeling, inspections, and design, in order to assist federal, state and local clients.

Responsibilities

Design constructible solutions to stormwater problems and produce construction documents utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar drafting program, on a variety of water resources projects. Model and assess the performance of urban drainage and stormwater infrastructure including gray and green infrastructure practices utilizing the PCSWMM/EPA SWMM5 engine or other similar stormwater models. Assist with construction observation of ongoing design projects. Perform hydrologic and 1D/2D hydraulic analyses for modeling and mapping floodplains in both riverine and interior urban areas. Develop flood risk products and perform flood risk assessments to assist in mitigation and resiliency planning. Ability to plan and coordinate all aspects of small to medium size projects in either a Project Engineer or Project Manager role, including supervising staff assigned to the project. Ability to support water resource team in planning and coordinating all aspects of medium to large size projects in multiple roles, including supervising staff assigned to the project. Mentoring staff and developing junior staff Ability to assis on water resources and resiliency aspects of multi-disciplinary projects for integrated water resources planning and watershed master planning.

Required Skills & Required Experience

BS or MS Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering (or related engineering field) Demonstrated knowledge of hydrology and open channel hydraulics. Experience working in the following programs: Civil 3D (or similar drafting program), PCSWMM/EPA SWMM5 (or similar stormwater modeling program), ESRI ArcGIS/QGIS Familiarity with some of the following programs is advantageous: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D & 2D, XPSWMM
