Amazon Senior Technical Program Manager, Device Privacy Services in Denver, Colorado

Ball Arena (home of the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets), Coors Field (home of the Colorado Rockies), and Mile High Stadium (home of the Denver Broncos) are all within walking distance of the office.

The Devices Privacy Services team is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead large-scale, highly visible initiatives focusing on building and retaining Amazon customer trust, working closely with internal product partners such as Alexa, Kindle, Fire TV, Fire Tablet and Ring. This is an opportunity to drive collaboration with internal product partners and orchestrate large cross-organizational programs and releases to deliver high impact results. The Device Privacy Services team builds services that drive customer experiences to earn and retain our customers' trust across all Amazon devices including Kindle, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, Amazon Echo, Smart Devices in addition to Amazon experiences on 3rd-party devices.

• Effective negotiation skills; be able to make smart trade-offs (e.g., time vs. effort vs. cost), and drive appropriate schedules, while being willing to readjust priorities to ensure the right customer, technology, and engineering outcomes

Key job responsibilities

• Drive high-priority & high-visibility goals across multiple organizations

• Drive monthly & quarterly business reviews and provide program updates to leaders 3 levels above

• Be able to influence organization roadmap priorities and technical direction

• Represent difficult trade-off decisions and solutions clearly to leaders up to 3 levels above to help them understand decisions and options

• Manage cross-functional and cross-organization communication to ensure all stakeholders are informed, and needs are aligned

• Guide the technical direction and decisions to deliver solutions that meet Amazon high standards for customer satisfaction, efficiency, stability, extensibility, simplicity, and operational excellence

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
