Job Duties and Responsibilities
DISH Media provides advertisers with intelligent solutions to efficiently maximize exposure to desired audiences across DISH and Sling. Through innovative platforms, viewer measurement tools, and access to custom audiences, advertisers can employ strategically positioned, demographically targeted buys that enhance their national media campaigns. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineering Manager - Media Ad Sales to lead our onsite and offshore team in the development of innovative advertising solutions for DISH Media's customers. As a key member of our Ad Sales team, you will be responsible for managing a product backlog, working closely with the Business team to gather and analyze requirements, monitoring the progress of development, communicating with all stakeholders, and providing executive updates.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of developers, testers, and quality assurance engineers to design, develop, and deliver high-quality advertising solutions for digital, addressable, and linear markets.
Manage the product backlog, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery of features and fixes.
Collaborate with the Business team to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring that solutions meet customer needs and business objectives.
Monitor the progress of development, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure that the team is meeting project timelines and quality standards.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including customers, internal teams, and executive leadership, to ensure that project goals and timelines are understood and aligned.
Provide regular executive updates on project progress, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning within the team, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams, to ensure that advertising solutions meet customer needs and business objectives.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in media ad sales, digital, addressable, and linear markets, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improve product offerings.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
At least 6+ years of experience in media ad sales, with a strong understanding of digital, addressable, and linear markets.
Proven experience in leading a team of developers, testers, and quality assurance engineers.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong project management skills, with experience in managing multiple projects and priorities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
Experience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
Strong understanding of software development life cycles, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Node.js, or Perl.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to build and maintain a high-performing team.
Preferred Skills:
CRM Systems : Extensive experience with platforms like Salesforce.
Order Management Systems: Proficient in Ad Sales order management systems such as MediaOcean, Decentrix, and WideOrbit.
Ad Servers: Hands-on experience with ad servers, particularly Freewheel.
Programmatic Buying : Familiarity with programmatic buying tools like The Trade Desk.
Analytics and Reporting: Strong understanding of analytics and reporting tools such as Nielsen and Comscore.
Addressable TV Solutions: Knowledge of addressable TV solutions like Invidi.

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $110,100.00/Year - $157,300.00/Year
