Job Description
Special Education Compliance Coordinator works with the special education team to ensure that IEPs are compliant based on state and federal guidelines. They work closely with the Transition Coordinator and Special Programs Manager. The Compliance Coordinator plans the weekly multidisciplinaryteam meetings with school teams. They are expected to meet all internal deadlines. We recommend the candidate has a Master's degree in Special Education and must hold or be able to obtain Colorado Department of Education licensure.
The Special Education Coordinatoris a critical participant in the implementation of all policies and procedures related to Special Education programs at Colorado Preparatory Academy (COPA) and Pikes Peak online School (PPOS). The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining relationships with state/regional/district level special education leaders, and keeping the Colorado Schools compliant with deadlines related to special education programs. This position will ensure all special education reporting and compliance requirements are met at both schools.
This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 8-4 or as defined by the school.

Assist with the implementation of all policies and procedures related to Special Education programs;
Create and maintain relationships with state/regional/district-level special education leaders;
Develop contacts with special education related service providers;
Assist with all special education reporting, e.g. school, local, state, and federal;
Work with Student Services Administrator, teachers and HOS on compliance-related issues;
Works directly with parents and students (both regular and special education) where necessary;
Assists with special programs operations by starting IEP programs, entering accommodations for testing in school based programs
Assists with special programs compliance by completing service audit checks monthly, reviewing related services missed session reports, and tracking upcoming annual or re-evaluation review dates.
Assists in the child find response process by reviewing all incoming submissions and fielding those where they need to go
Assists with re-evaluation review and initial evaluation planning paperwork and meetings
Completes monthly observations for different special education class connect sessions
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree
Required Experience:
Two (2) years of relevant experience OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications:
Great organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; Experience using databases; Web proficiency
Ability to clear required background check
Licensing/Certification:
- Valid CO Special Education License
Preferred Qualifications:
Diagnostician Certification preferred
Experience teaching in both online and in a brick-and-mortar environments
Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
