Laradon Special Education Teacher - BCBA in Denver, Colorado
Position: Special Education Teacher - BCBA
Schedule: 8 am-4 pm, M-F. This position is a full calendar year.
Starting Salary Range: * $60,000-$75,000 annually & relocation assistance
The stated starting salary pay range for this position is meant to reflect a range of where a typical entry level candidate would start and is not meant to be all inclusive. Additional education and experience may result in a starting pay outside of the stated range.

As a Special Education Teacher/BCBA you will be a valuable asset to Laradon’s mission by l eading the instruction and behavioral services for students. Lead the multidisciplinary IEP process and develop evidence-based behavior intervention plans that include positive behavior intervention and supports and environmental strategies designed to address known antecedents and promote skill acquisition. Train and support staff to assist them in utilizing appropriate interventions and behavior management strategies.
No day is ever alike but you can generally look forward to the following responsibilities:
Promote a learning environment in which all students thrive; classroom instruction that is tailored to students’ strengths and needs and prepares students for their next transition.
Plan and coordinate provision of specialized instruction services based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in both group and individual settings that include skill acquisition plans to teach functional skills.
Serve as special education case manager, leading the multidisciplinary IEP process, facilitating IEP meetings, and meeting required timelines.
Develop initial treatment plan/BIP, including crisis management plans, and meet required timelines for case plan reviews.
Develop and maintain data collection systems for IEP goals treatment plan/BIP data collection. Delegate data collection to paraprofessionals and service providers as needed.
Actively engage parents, guardians, and community agencies in the IEP process.
Complete required documentation and maintain records.
Provide crisis intervention and support to students and staff.
Work collaboratively with other professionals to meet the needs of individual students across learning environments.
Provide direct supervision and leadership for classroom paraprofessionals.
Provide training and coaching for staff in using evidence-based interventions and strategies.
Drive students as necessary for program needs.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

We ask that you bring the following assets to our workplace:
Current Colorado Department of Education License in Special Education.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification.
Excellent communication skills and flexibility.
Ability to work with diverse student population and staff.
Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full workdays.
Preferred Requirements:
One year experience in a licensed position working with students with intellectual or multiple disabilities.
Three years experience with children or adolescents with challenging behavior.
Experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse students.
Valid driving license, good driving record, vehicle insurance.
