Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Construction/Contractor industry. The position is based in Denver, Colorado. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of financial statements, reconciliation of accounts, tax reporting, and assisting in budget preparations among other duties.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process timely financial statements including P& L, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows

• Conduct monthly bank account reconciliations

• Execute monthly general ledger entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts

• Maintain current knowledge of GAAP, including both accrual and cash-based accounting and the conversion between the two methods

• Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly state use tax returns for multiple states

• Prepare personal property tax and annual filings for multiple states

• Prepare quarterly key performance indicators

• Process accounts payable checks, Vendor ACH’s and employee ACH’s

• Code monthly office rent invoices and calculate new lease standards

• Analyze and implement new accounting standards according to GAAP

• Assist in preparation of annual & mid-year budgets/projections, company budgets and by office

• Support the potential implementation of the accounting software and adhere to internal controls and policies and procedures

• Guide junior accountant and other staff

• Assist with the annual book audit and preparation of income tax returns

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable when necessary

• Maintain and update financial dashboards and file maker reporting. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of accounting, preferably within the construction or contractor industry

• Proficient in Month End Close procedures

• Skilled in the preparation of Financial Statements

• Experience in conducting Financial Statement Audits

• Ability to prepare comprehensive Financial Statements

• Expertise in creating Cash Flow Statements and Cash Flow Reports

• Experience in Bank Account Reconciliation

• Proficiency in Vendor Payment processing

• Familiarity with Fixed Asset System and maintaining Fixed Asset Records

• Ability to handle Coding of Invoices

• Experience in System Conversion and Implementation

• Proficient in Tax Reporting procedures

• Knowledge of Sage 100 software

• Familiarity with MS Dynamics 365 Business Central

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus
