TEKsystems Sr. IT Project Manager- POS Software in Denver, Colorado

TEKsystems has a Denver based hybrid Project Manager contract need with POS (Point of Sale) and/or Reservation SW experience.

Our customer is in the hospitality/global attractions industry. They are modernizing their Point of Sale (POS) and ticketing system. They need a senior IT Project Manager for at least 6 months, probably longer. The PM will be based in Denver and be able to work in their downtown Denver office 2 days/week. Once acclimated and up and running the PM may be able to scale back the onsite work to 1 day/week.

The PM will manage the 3rd party vendor, ensure stakeholders (marketing, sales, execs, etc.) are aligned, drive the project to completion, etc. He/she needs to be able to work within functional organizations which have siloed stakeholders.

Needs to be a champion of the project internally and be able to bring a diverse group of stakeholders together.

Our client emphasized that the Project Manager needs very good structure and a sound methodology (mixture of agile and waterfall). He/she also needs to have outstanding communication skills and excellent documentation, along with very sound processes.

Formal Job Description:

The candidate will assist in leading and coordinating the successful deployment of a new POS (Point of Sale) Solution. They will be expected to liaise closely with the client and 3rd party stakeholders. They will be working closely with a pre-selected vendor on the technical solution, but will also be responsible for ensuring the successful roll-out of infrastructure, policies and processes that align with the new POS system.

EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

 Proven experience with Project Management in an IT environment

 A strong understanding of formal project management methodologies

 Previous experience leading a rollout of a POS solution or similar attraction software

 Familiarity with the hospitality industry and associated system applications is desired

CORE JOB DUTIES

 Develop and execute against a comprehensive and well-documented project plan with timelines, resources and activities

 Liaise with Business stakeholders to establish a clear project scope, list of project objectives, and measurements for success

 Monitor and control project progress, risks, decisions and issues, with comprehensive documentation

 Act as the main point of communication for all upstream and downstream stakeholders, with scheduled status reports, steering meetings and vendor calls as well as accurate documentation

 Coordinate the procurement, configuration, and deployment of infrastructure and hardware devices required for the system rollout.

 Conduct site assessments to ensure readiness for hardware installation and provide onsite support as needed.

 Coordinate with technical teams to develop, configure and customize the system and interfaces to meet business requirements

 Oversee testing of solution, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to validate system functionality and usability

 Manage change requests, and communicate updates to stakeholders

 Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.

 Coordinate the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to the business.

 Document lessons learned and best practices for future reference and continuous improvement.

Other Info:

Mobile tablets will need to be set up as the new POS software is deployed.

Client uses SmartSheet for project tracking and Power BI as their visualization tool for reporting.
