Volt is immediately hiring Linux/VMware System Administrator in Aurora, CO.

As Linux/VMware System Administrator you will:

We are looking for experienced Linux/VMware System Administration to support large scale systems in a 24x7 environment.

Primary duties include TIER 1 and 2 support to bare-metal and virtualized LINUX nodes running on TCP/IP based networks. Work with the IT team to provide troubleshooting support to IT systems with hardware and software components; monitor the health and configuration of numerous IT systems, implement cyber security configurations; and upgrade/modify system hardware and operating system configurations.

Be a quick learner, team player, have good communication and troubleshooting skills, and possess the discipline to work independently or unsupervised when necessary.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Monitor and maintain computer configurations and performance in a VMware virtual environment

Perform Operating System, and hardware troubleshooting in bare-metal and virtual environments

Work with engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot and support systems in a 24x7 operating environment

Provide IT support to new system developments and system upgrades

Perform system backups and maintain system reconstitution capabilities and procedures

Develop and implement scripts to monitor, improve and/or automate system performance and maintainability

Maintain system documentation, configuration documents, user guides and troubleshooting procedures.

This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to Hire opportunity.

This position requires Active TS/SCI Clearance with CI Poly.

The Ideal candidate will have:

System administration experience with Linux systems

Strong understanding of network communications

Experience with administering virtual systems

Current TS-SCI clearance with CI poly

DODI 8570.01-M IAT Level II (or higher) certification

Desired Qualifications:

VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA) or Certified Professional (VCP)

Experience with Atlassian products (Bitbucket, Jira, & Confluence)

Network Administration experience

Windows System Administration experience

Pay Range: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour.
