Job Opening: Forklift Material Handler

Location: Des Moines, Iowa

Job Description: Seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Material Handler to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. In this role, you will be crucial in managing and transporting materials within a warehouse or production facility. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts, ensuring accurate material handling, and maintaining safety standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Forklift Operation: Operate forklifts to transport, load, and unload materials and products. Ensure that all forklift operations are conducted safely and efficiently.

  • Material Handling: Move and stack materials within the warehouse or production area. Ensure accurate placement and storage of products.

  • Inventory Management: Assist in tracking inventory levels, conducting regular stock counts, and reporting discrepancies or issues to management.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks and minor maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment to ensure they remain in good working condition.

  • Documentation: Complete and maintain accurate records of material movements, inventory levels, and equipment usage. Provide reports as needed.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient operations and timely completion of tasks.

Requirements:

  • Back ground & drug screening: Required to pass back ground and drug screening.**

  • Experience: Must have previous experience operating forklifts and handling materials in a warehouse or industrial setting.**

  • Certification: Valid forklift certification and/or experience with different types of forklifts and material handling equipment.

  • Transportation: Valid Drivers License and Reliable transportation.**

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in handling materials and maintaining inventory records.

  • Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various physical conditions, including standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift.
