Job Summary:

The Operations Specialist I position performs three different desk duties in a rotating responsibility. They will be proficient on the Adjustments desk, the Returns desk, and the Analysis desk, providing coverage “on demand” and allowing for improved performance on all three desks. This will be a training step for the Operations Specialist II position.

Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:

· Adjustments Desk: Receives and initiates adjustment claims through the banking system by reviewing the data along with the supporting documentation and handles claims for all adjustments. Bankers Trust uses three channels for check clearing and therefore the adjustments follow the same channels; SVPCO; ViewPointe and the FED. Each of these has its own site and guidelines to follow. This desk also handles reviewing the duplicate detection report and making decisions on the items flagged.

· Returns Desk: Makes decisions on items that hit our Non Post report and contacts the appropriate branch when needed, working to minimize the risk to the bank by timely returns of un-honored checks. This desk requires a thorough understanding of check processing, fraud, & duplicate items, along with a full understanding of the bank collection workflow and legal aspects of endorsement rules that apply. This desk also requires the ability to follow payment instructions and make decisions in the best interest of both the bank and our customers.

· Analysis Desk: Tracks and bills the services we provide our business through FIS software, Extended Account Analysis System (XAA). This desk handles the detailed workings of a complex system to provide customer service, account maintenance, pricing of services, and control of statement printing for this group of accounts.

· Other duties as assigned, including special projects

Education and/or Experience:

· High school diploma or GED preferred

· 2 – 4 years experience

· At least two years experience in bank operations preferred

Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

· Knowledge of the Item Processing/Operations Systems

Hiring Salary Range

The hiring range below reflects targeted base salary. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s prior related experience & education and will be finalized at the time of offer. In addition to base salary, most positions are also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program. Select positions may also be eligible to earn incentives and/or commissions. Hiring Salary Range: $21.00 - $25.00 (Annualized at 40 hours per week: $43,680 - $52,000)
