What You'll Do
We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our Global Investment Management Team in Principal Asset Management! In this role, you’ll serve to support technology solutions for a wide range of asset classes and investment teams.
You will lead complex or highly sensitive products, typically applied across multiple lines of business. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of the asset management industry, product development lifecycle, and top-tier interpersonal skills to drive the product vision and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for medium to high complexity products based on business goals
Accountable for understanding and defining key business outcomes and requirements for your product(s)
Manage product backlog and prioritize product improvements
Collaborate with engineering, architecture, delivery, and other business partners to deliver business value to our stakeholders
Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of our business processes and a comprehensive understanding of technology’s role in solving business problems within the product team
Use metrics and analytics that drive decisions to ensure product development aligns with business objectives
Communicate product updates, timelines, and risks to internal stakeholders and senior leadership
Monitor product health and find opportunities for product innovation and improvement

Who You Are
2+ years of business, technology, or product management experience; or equivalent demonstrated through the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Familiarity with modern product methodologies (ex: Agile) and product management tools (ex: JIRA, Confluence)
Strong critical thinking skills to resolve complex challenges while balancing opposing priorities and strategic business objectives
Proven track record of completing multiple projects and initiatives at the same time
Must be team-oriented with the ability to efficiently to meet deadlines and successfully establish relationships across business units
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and clearly articulate product strategy across multiple levels of both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
Knowledge of the asset management industry including institutional sales, service models, and the unique needs of institutional clients is strongly preferred.
Experience with Portfolio Management systems such as Bloomberg or Charles River
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$86500 - $116900 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
