Honeywell Program Lead in Des Plaines, Illinois
There is an immediate opening for the Sr. Manager, Modular Project Execution, within the Global Modular Projects team at Honeywell UOP LLC. The Global Modular Projects group offers an alternative to an EPC approach for Refining, Petrochemical, and Renewable process units by offering them as pre-fabricated modular units ready for a quick and easy installation at plant site. These projects, ranging in size from $10 to $100M or more, include conversion of basic engineering documents of process plants into detailed design for modular fabrication, procurement, modular fabrication, QA/QC, oversight during installation of UOP supplied modular units, and follow up warranty services.
The responsibilities for Sr. Manager, Modular Project Execution include, but not limited to, directing and coordinating a team of Project Managers to; 1) support opportunity pursuits by developing project specific execution plan, 2) plan and estimate manhours and review costs to execute projects, 3) support development of technical and commercial proposals, 4) review commercial terms and conditions, and 5) ultimately take ownership of sold projects and deliver them on time and under cost. This position will work closely with the renewable products businesses, project & resident engineers, global procurement team, project controls team, finance, various engineering groups, QA/QC, and strategic vendors to coordinate resources required to support the development of opportunities and to successfully execute and deliver sold projects.
Primary Accountabilities:
Support renewable businesses during opportunity pursuit phase
Support sales support team in development of proposals and cost workbooks, including review of technical and commercial proposals and commercial terms and conditions
Participate in cost workbook reviews
Engage in customer meetings during opportunity pursuit and project execution
Provide leadership, support, training, and coaching to project managers to support successful execution and delivery of modular projects
Develop, own and maintain MOS to provide execution oversight
Develop reports and participate in management report out
Identify skills gaps and develop individualized training programs
Develop, own and maintain on-boarding tools and documents
Develop, own and maintain project execution work processes, documents, and tools to support efficient execution of modular projects
Ensure all direct reports support corporate policies, especially in relation to Office & Field Safety practices and engineering design policies
Support identification, development and maintenance of strategic vendor relationships worldwide
Drive improvements in consistency and accuracy of project execution documents, including schedule, cost, quality, site services, etc.
Perform all aspects of staffing and budgeting including AOP and STRAP headcount planning based on opportunity pipeline
Coordinate and take part in performance management, career progression and development, and salary administration
Participate in professional and campus recruiting
YOU MUST HAVE
Minimum of 5 years experience in a group management role
Experience in project contractual, legal, tax and financial issues
Experience in construction and/or project management in oil and gas industries
Experience in modular unit detailed design and fabrication is beneficial
Ability to travel up to 30%
