Robert Half Accountant in Detroit, Michigan

Description

We are seeking an Accountant to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity and entails performing various financial tasks such as financial analysis, month-end closing, account reconciliation, and other finance-related tasks. As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by managing our financial records and ensuring our financial transactions are accurately recorded.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to provide insights for decision-making processes

• Oversee the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

• Utilize advanced Excel skills to manipulate and analyze financial data

• Display self-motivation in performing daily tasks and taking on new responsibilities

• Handle account reconciliation tasks to ensure accuracy of financial statements

• Perform journal entries to document all business transactions

• Participate actively in the process of closing books and account analysis

• Effectively communicate, both written and verbally, to relay financial information to relevant parties

• Understand the flow of journal entries to ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded

• Carry out other finance-related tasks as required to support the financial operations of the organization.

Requirements • Proficiency in performing month end close processes

• Demonstrated experience with year end closings

• Proven ability in account reconciliation tasks

• Knowledge and experience in creating and managing journal entries

• Strong skills in financial analysis

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar qualification is preferred

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and reliability.
