Job Summary  

We are seeking an Assistant Media Planner to join our Paid Media Planning team.  The position will support and contribute to the evaluation, development, and execution of paid media plans for national, regional, and local campaigns for one or more agency clients.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and multi-tasks well but also has the capacity to think creatively.  This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn and grow in the fast-paced, full-service advertising agency environment.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:

  • Assist in the evaluation, development and execution of paid media plans across various media channels: social, digital, broadcast, print, out-of-home, among others, while aligning with client objectives and budgets.

  • Communicate with sales vendors to gather buy details, negotiate rates, book placements and request performance metrics

  • Prepare/populate trafficking “tracker” documents for Account, Custom Content, and AdOps teams

  • Monitor, gather, organize and analyze the performance of media campaigns via monthly digital metrics reports and campaign recaps; provide insights and recommendations to optimize performance

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing evaluations/POVs, updates on campaigns, and issuing digital metrics reports and recaps.

  • Present media evaluations or media plans to internal and/or client teams 

  • Gather media vendor information, media kits, and set up introductory meetings

  • Pull media research, data, or other reports as needed

  • Handle administrative tasks related to media planning/buying, including invoicing, budget tracking, and actualization

  • Work closely with internal teams, including Paid Social/Paid Search/Programmatic experts, Account Management, Custom Content team, and AdOps to ensure seamless execution of campaigns. 

  • Assist Group Media Director, Sr. Media Planner, and Media Planner with various other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or a similar/related program required

  • Must live in Michigan ; knowledge of state geography and/or passion for being a Michigander a plus 

  • 1-2 years of experience in media planning, buying, or a related field preferred

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; must be able to multi-task

  • Basic math skills required; media math knowledge and/or a love of numbers a strong plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to compose professional, business emails to clients and vendors

  • Public speaking skills and/or experience a strong plus

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required 

  • Familiarity with media planning tools and software a plus but not required

  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Friendly, enthusiastic, open-minded attitude; willingness to learn and excited to take ownership in projects.
