Essential functions (job duties):
The Department of Neurology at Wayne State University School of Medicine is seeking a BC/BE neurologist with additional fellowship training in an ACGME approved Neuromuscular or Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship Program.
The Neuromuscular program at WSU has a strong tradition in clinical excellence treating patients at the Detroit Medical Center. The Department has established and developed programs in Inherited Peripheral Nerve Diseases and Immune-Mediated Neuromuscular Disease as well as a multidisciplinary Charcot-Marie-Tooth clinic including genetic counseling, physiatry assessments, social work, and orthotics/prosthetics. Our Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America (MGFA) care network clinic also offers the latest treatments and clinical trials. In addition to medical management of a wide range of neuromuscular diseases, faculty carry out electromyography and single-fiber EMG in the Holden Electrodiagnostic lab.
Essential Functions:
Participate in neuromuscular diseases research opportunities including clinical trials.
Participate in educational programs of the Department of Neurology for medical students, residents and Clinical Neurophysiology fellows.
Participate in conferences and seminars of the Department of Neurology.
Perform other work related duties as assigned by Chair or his designee.
Unique duties:
Qualifications:
M.D. or D.O. degree required.
Valid Michigan medical license.
Rank commensurate with credentials.
Board certified/board eligible in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology or Neuromuscular medicine by ABPN.
