Assistant Professor - Teaching (Physics & Astronomy)

Wayne State University is searching for an experiencedAssistant Professor - Teaching (Physics & Astronomy)at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

Teach undergraduate-level introductory and advanced physics and/or astronomy lecture courses with a 3/3 teaching load (3 courses in the Fall semester and 3 courses in the Winter semester)

Assist in curriculum development.

Direct teaching teams (composed of graduate Teaching Assistants and undergraduate Learning Assistants) for applicable courses assigned as part of the teaching load.

Serve on departmental committees.

Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or a related field

To be clear, “anonymized” does not mean that specific content or experiences should be omitted, only names and locations. Please limit the responses to each question to 250 words or fewer. Feel free to copy from the other application materials to answer these questions.
