Actalent Emissions Engineer in Detroit, Michigan

Actalent is seeking an experienced Emissions Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will engage in emissions testing for large-scale vehicles within a research and development setting. This role involves supervising installations, commissioning, and maintenance, as well as executing regulatory testing and vehicle certification audits.

Hard Skills

  • GHG17, GHG21, CARB24 emissions testing and regulation

  • Diesel powertrains Class 6 - 8

  • Horiba, Semtech, and AVL PEMS Bench installation, commissioning, maintenance, test operations, and data post-processing

  • Span Gas and Linearization validation and certification per 1065 protocols

  • DAQ system integration and J1939 data resources (CANape preferred)

  • Experience with AVL M.O.V.E PM PEMS, iS gaseous and FID testing and CONCERTO post-processing

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external engineering teams, UAW, and Data Analytics teams

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Work Site

  • This is a fully on-site position in Detroit, Michigan.

Work Environment

  • The position is based onsite in Detroit, MI and requires up to 30% travel, including post winter and summer tests and customer audits.
