Henry Ford Health System Liaison-Patient/Visitor - Full Time - Detroit in Detroit, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Acts as a liaison between guests, staff and patients to respond to patient and guest information inquiries. Responsibilities: Receives, screens, routes and/or responds to all incoming inquiries for information, directions or concerns.| Receives guest suggestions and complaints and escalates through proper channels.| Provides patient information in compliance with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements and organizational privacy policies.| Identifies and report issues of safety and maintenance.| Assists in improving patient satisfaction while keeping volunteer office management informed of potential problems. Anticipates family's needs and resolves issues before they become major source of concern.

Schedule: This is a 80 hour (every 2 weeks) position. In need of a day/afternoon/midnight shift coverage for weekdays and weekend shifts. Schedule can be split into some 8 hour shifts and some 12 hour shifts.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma equivalency

  • 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively prepare and analyze reports.

  • Proficient with Microsoft applications.

  • One to Two years of related experience (preferably in a hospital setting).

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • BLS Preferred
