Nursing Coordinator RN - Ambulatory Gastroenterology - Detroit
Full Time (40 hours/week) Day Shift / 8am - 4:30pm - no weekends/holidays
Minimum requirements include 3 plus years inpatient/ambulatory RN experience. Gastro/Endo experience. Some leadership experience.
No patient face-to-face interaction. Primarily providing care management.
GENERAL SUMMARY: Reports to the Nursing Leader/Administration. The Nurse Coordinator is a Registered Nurse who under the direction of department leadership develops, implements, monitors and evaluates a program of care for patients. Coordinates care across the continuum to facilitate quality outcomes. Collaborates with other healthcare team members including physicians, nurses, extenders, ancillary and support staff to ensure optimum patient care and satisfaction. Provides education to patients and family regarding disease process. Trains and directs a nursing team in the optimal care of the patient.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Successful completion of HFHS (Parent Operating Group) Pharmacology test. Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. A minimum of three to five years of progressively more responsible clinical nursing practice in specialty. Certification in specialty preferred. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel. Preferred experience in the specialty. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills. Knowledge of Word and Excel.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS or ACLS per HFHS Policy.
